POSITION OVERVIEW
As an associate manager with the Programs team, you will play a critical role in planning and executing the Partnership’s work to develop strong leaders, engage public servants, strengthen government management systems and improve government-wide workforce-related challenges such as recruiting and hiring talent. The associate manager will have a range of responsibilities including scope and budget management, internal and external stakeholder management, and managing programs and events.
This will include leading out on program operations, delivery, communications and team coordination. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player able to organize multiple assignments, take ownership, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and bring an innovative mindset to solving problems. They will have the ability to build and maintain productive working relationships with internal teams, external stakeholders, customers and our partners. They will demonstrate a commitment to public service and have an interest in taking on increasing responsibility for program management and supervision.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- With senior-level oversight, manage small to mid-size projects or key components of larger, more complex projects
- Develop and oversee budget and expenses for small projects or components of larger projects
- Once project scope is established, assist with breaking work down into activities and deliverables; manage the completion of those activities and deliverables as assigned
- Analyze evaluation data for project effectiveness, offering a point of view and making recommendations to maximize impact and solve problems
- Synthesize information and use it to create a clear and concise approach to executing work and deliverables
- Demonstrate developed written, oral and presentational skills, managing external and internal program communications

- Coordinate and facilitate internal planning meetings and project meetings with external partners
- Build and maintain productive working relationships with government leaders and external partners, establishing credibility and earning their confidence through exceptional customer service and relationship-building

REQUIRED/PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work or military experience required.
- Two to four years of experience, which may include internships.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and SharePoint, required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in a hybrid (remote + office) environment in Washington, DC. The successful candidate must be a permanent resident in the Washington, DC, Maryland or Virginia area. The person in this role is expected to work in the office, on average, three days per week – with Wednesday as the required day in-office. This position requires consistent use of office equipment such as computer, telephone, printer/scanner and MS Office.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time exempt position with regular work hours Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET. Occasional evening or weekend activities may be required. Please note the Partnership allows flexibility in work schedules.
TRAVEL
If travel occurs, it is usually during the business day. Very little out of the area and/or overnight travel will be required as well.
SALARY AND BENEFITS
The starting salary range for this position is $62,500 - $65,500. The Partnership offers a compensation package that includes a competitive salary; medical, dental and vision coverage; life insurance; long- and short-term disability insurance; a 401(k) program with a 4 percent employer match; opportunities for training and development; commuter benefits; 15 days of annual leave per year, 10 days of sick leave per year, plus all federal holidays and the day after Thanksgiving off; and use of an on-site exercise facility.
