SPUR is a civic planning organization that brings together people from across the political spectrum to develop solutions to the major problems faced by cities. It is a member-supported nonprofit organization. Members receive its acclaimed monthly magazine, The Urbanist, and free or reduced admission to more than 200 events a year. SPUR’s work spans 8 program areas: community planning, disaster planning, economic development, good government, housing, regional planning, sustainable development, and transportation. SPUR is based in San Francisco, United States, with offices in San Jose and Oakland.
