The Urban Land Institute (ULI) is a nonprofit research and education organization supported by its members, with a mission to shape the future of the built environment for transformative impact in communities worldwide. ULI Dallas-Fort Worth, a district council of ULI, delivers this mission throughout the metroplex through a variety of engagement programs and events. Events take place in different formats, including in person, virtual, and hybrid. With over 1,300 members who represent the spectrum of land use and real estate development disciplines, ULI Dallas Fort Worth is one of the largest district councils in the United States.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Sponsorship and Partnerships Manager to lead business development, sponsorship engagement, and grant coordination for ULI Dallas-Fort Worth. This is a unique opportunity to shape a highly visible role that blends strategic partnership building with mission-aligned fundraising and local impact.

This individual will serve as the primary relationship manager for sponsors, identifying new revenue opportunities, maintaining strong partner engagement, and overseeing local grant submissions in coordination with internal stakeholders and the ULI Foundation.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Sponsorship & Business Development

  • Lead the annual sponsorship strategy in collaboration with the Executive Director and Sponsorship Committee.
  • Develop sponsorship packages, pitch materials, and tailored proposals for prospective partners.
  • Identify and cultivate new sponsors through outreach, networking, and local engagement.
  • Manage and strengthen sponsor relationships, ensuring delivery of promised benefits and renewal opportunities.

Grants & Philanthropic Partnerships

  • Monitor and pursue relevant foundation and corporate grant opportunities.
  • Lead local coordination of grant proposals, working with teammates and HQ staff to prepare compelling narratives and budgets.
  • Track grant deliverables and reporting deadlines; ensure compliance and successful renewals.

Relationship Management & Reporting

  • Serve as the point of contact for sponsors, partners, and philanthropic contacts.
  • Track key performance indicators and provide updates to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Create post-event or quarterly reports on sponsor fulfillment and impact.

Committee & Program Support

  • Support Local Product Councils (LPCs) through event planning, budgeting, and committee logistics.
  • Partner with volunteer leaders and internal teammates to deliver programs aligned with ULI’s mission.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 5–7 years of experience in business development, partnerships, fundraising, or related fields.
  • Experience with real estate or urban planning sectors is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships, identify prospects, and close deals.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills—especially for grant coordination.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with CRM/database systems (e.g., Salesforce or NetForum).

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This role is hybrid, with an expectation of regular in-person participation at events and meetings throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth region. ULI maintains an office in the Uptown/Downtown area, which serves as a central hub for staff and member engagement. The team meets in-person at least once weekly.

SALARY AND BENEFITS
